Christine graduated with her associate in applied science and certificate in Radiography from Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute in 2003. She has worked in both hospitals and outpatient centers as a floor and lead technologist. After almost 20 years working as a CT and X-ray technologist, she took a full-time job as an educator. She has worked as an instructor for both the Radiography and CT programs at Catawba Valley Community College. She holds a bachelor’s degree in care coordination and master’s in healthcare administration. She does still work as a floor tech and as the Lung Cancer Screening Navigator at Piedmont Healthcare in Statesville, NC. Christine also works with students around the United States to help them pass their X-ray and CT registry. She has served as the NCSRT Conference Chair and Co-Chair, completed the NCSRT Leadership Academy and served as the NCSRT Vice President. She is also her churches middle and high school youth group leader. On her free time, she enjoys spending time with her 2 sons, Bryson and Graham, hiking, camping (not in a tent, only an RV), and exploring new places.
Brandy Caldwell is the Program Director at West Georgia Technical College in Douglasville, GA, where she brings a passion for radiologic education and a dedication to student success. A proud graduate of Southwestern Community College in Sylva, NC (Class of 2006).
Her career journey spans several states, including Georgia and Florida, with extensive clinical experience in high-pressure environments. Brandy served as Lead Technologist at a Level II Trauma Center in Marietta, GA, and as Chief Technologist at a Level I Trauma Center in downtown Atlanta. Her passion for trauma radiography stems from witnessing the extraordinary teamwork of healthcare professionals coming together to care for patients during their most vulnerable moments—a testament to the heart of healthcare.
Kerry Dunn is the Clinical Coordinator and Senior Lecturer for the Radiography Program at Georgia Southern University in Savannah, Georgia. Kerry has been an educator for over a decade and earned her doctorate in Educational Leadership from Georgia State University in 2022. Dr. Dunn also holds degrees from the University of Georgia and Emory University. In 2011, she earned her master’s degree in Adult Education from the University of Georgia, and in 2006, she graduated from Emory University, with an associate degree in Medical Science. Dr. Dunn is actively involved in her state affiliate, the GSRT, and is passionate about clinical leadership, mentoring, and coaching within clinical education.
Mr. Griswold has been a registered technologist for over 50 years and a frequent speaker at many professional meetings. His career includes over 30 years as an educator and program director, 24 years as a district manager for a major medical imaging company and consulting. He is a contributing author to several textbooks in radiologic technology and Rad BootCamp and is considered an expert in digital imaging technologies. For many years, he has been a regular contributor to presentations from Medical Technology Management Institute (MTMI) and the ASRT Live Webcast series.
Currently, he teaches in the biomedical engineering and radiography programs at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College in Green Bay and continues to offer his insights and experiences to all technologists, looking to better understand digital radiographic image interpretation and production. His trademark, “Can You Think Like a Radiologist” presentations, offer a unique perspective as to the important role technologists play in optimizing image quality.
Diane states she has been a technologist all her life, literally! She has worked in various modalities to include Special procedures (now called IR), CT, as a PAC admin, but she has always come back to her first love of diagnostic and trauma. Diane has spent the last 25 years of her career in education. She is currently employed by University of Missouri as an OP Radiologic Technologist.
Diane had the honor of being recognized by her peers during an ASRT conference by receiving the 2019 Individual Advocacy award. Diane continues to volunteer and work on behalf of the profession through ASRT and her state affiliate, the Missouri Society of Radiologic Technologists. Diane was honored as she was elevated to Fellow of the MoSRT. She has spent her entire life serving others, first patients and now she serves her fellow medical imaging professionals where she can.
On a personal note, she, and her husband of 44 years, have two grown sons plus three grandsons. The oldest son lives close in Jefferson City Missouri, while the youngest son and his family live in Washington state.
Jonathan Lee is currently an instructor of computer science, networking, and information technology at Cape Fear Community College in Wilmington NC. Mr. Lee holds an Associate’s degree in Radiography from Cape Fear Community College as well as bachelor’s degrees in Computer Science and Mathematics from Western Carolina University. In 2016 he was awarded a Master’s degree in educational leadership at UNC Wilmington. He has been a didactic instructor and clinical instructor of radiography from 2004 to 2023, and a frequent presenter at NCSRT events. Previously, Mr. Lee was a computer programmer and technical writer for the Planning Research Corporation in McLean, VA. He currently works as a staff technologist at the main hospital and several other practices in the Wilmington area, where he currently resides with his wife, two children, and his two loyal Chihuahuas. He is an excellent automobile and marine engine mechanic, and enjoys boating, beaching, and all types of outdoor activities during his very rare time off.
Courtney McGhee is a dedicated healthcare professional with a passion for fostering collaboration and positivity within healthcare teams. Currently serving as the CT Supervisor at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center, Courtney holds a Bachelor of Science in Medical Imaging (BSMI) and is a registered Radiologic Technologist (RT) with certifications in both Radiography (R) and Computed Tomography (CT).

Dr. Sophia Miranda is a dynamic leader with extensive experience in healthcare, leadership, and higher education. As the Program Director of the Master of Science in Health Sciences (MSHS) program at Cabarrus College of Health Sciences, she has a proven track record of mentoring and developing professionals to achieve their full potential. Dr. Miranda’s expertise spans healthcare operations, clinical research, and leadership development, equipping her with a unique perspective on the challenges and opportunities in the industry.

Joy’ Renner's career began at UNC Chapel Hill where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Radiologic Science and Master of Arts degree in Curriculum and Instruction. She began teaching in a community college and later returned to Chapel Hill and assumed the leadership position for the programs in her Division. Her experience in education includes teaching in certificate, undergraduate, and graduate programs. Professionally she has been a long time member of the ASRT and been involved in the development of curricula, practice standards, and the development of the newest addition to the profession, the radiologist assistant. Joy is a former president and board chairman and Honors lecturer and elevated to Life Member and in the Academy of Fellows for the Association of Educators in Radiologic Science. At the state level she has been recognized for her service to the NCSRT through selection as a Reeves Rousseau Memorial Lecturer and elevation to a Life Member.
Melissa provides oversight and support to the Continuing Education/Workforce Development and Curriculum Health and Life Science Programs at the 58 colleges in the NC Community College System. With over twenty-five years’ experience in medical imaging, she transitioned from practice to educator and leader within the North Carolina Community College System. For the past fifteen years, she has developed significant educational programs and partnerships, focusing on enhancing healthcare education and student opportunities. Notably, she implemented the state’s first MRI Apprenticeship pathway and holistic admissions process. She has held various leadership roles, including Dean of Health Sciences at Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute. Melissa holds advanced degrees in Radiologic Sciences and Healthcare Education and is currently pursuing a doctorate in Leadership Studies. In 2022, she received the Excellence in Teaching Award/Community College Faculty of the Year from the NC State Board of Community Colleges.
Justice graduated from the Radiologic Technology program at New Hampshire Technical Institute in 2016. She has since worked in diagnostic x-ray, mobile x-ray, neuroendovascular surgery, and interventional radiology. In 2019, she earned her bachelor's degree from Western Governors University. Following that, she worked as a travel interventional technologist. In 2020, she began teaching at York Technical College in South Carolina. Justice went on to complete her master's degree from Western Governors University in 2023. In September 2024, she assumed the role of Program Director at Caldwell Community College.
Dr. Angela Thomas has been a radiographer since 1990. She began her employment at Duke University Medical Center and remained there until 2000. In 1997, she began working at Vance-Granville Community College as a Clinical Instructor. Over the course of the years, she has had the opportunity to serve as an Instructor, Clinical Coordinator, Program Director, and currently both the Program Director of Radiography and the Dean of The School of Health Sciences.
She received her AAS-Radiography degree from Pitt Community College in Greenville, NC, her BS in Forensic Sciences from Guilford College in Greensboro, NC, and her MS in Healthcare Management from Ashworth College in Norcross, Ga. She simultaneously earned her Graduate Certificate in Teaching, Training, and EDTECH and her Ed. D in Adult Community College Education and Leadership from NC State University.
Angela has a strong passion for what she does. It brings her joy to see the fruits of her labor enjoying the profession that she loves. In her spare time, she loves to go to the beach and read.
Rachel Ward, R.T.(T) is not only a radiation therapist but a dedicated advocate for the profession. Recognized with the 2021 I am the Gold Standard Award by the American Society of Radiologic Technologists, Rachel started advocating while working in a small dermatology office operating a superficial unit for treating nonmelanoma skin cancers. Her dedication led her to become a nationwide advocate for this treatment modality, with over 2,000 skin cancers treated. Rachel is committed to sharing her knowledge and experiences with students, providers, patients, and technologists. Recognizing the importance of community involvement, she holds memberships in multiple state affiliates and currently serves as the Vice President of the Michigan Society of Radiologic Technologists.
Dr. Rhonda Weaver holds a Bachelor of Science in Medical Imaging, a Master of Healthcare Administration, and a Doctorate in Executive Educational Leadership. She is registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in radiography, mammography, bone densitometry, and computed tomography. Dr. Weaver is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Society of Radiologic Technologists, the North Carolina Society of Radiologic Technologists, and the Association of Educators in Imaging and Radiologic Sciences. Her career spans over 24 years as a multimodality technologist and educator. Her research interests focus on training and development practices focused on preparing the health professions educator to be an effective faculty member. Currently, Dr. Weaver serves as a program chair and Associate Professor at Cabarrus College of Health Sciences in Concord North Carolina.
